For Lent this year the children of Knox-St. Andrew’s, Dutton, Ont., had a goal to raise 75,000 pennies. They wanted to buy a cow, a goat, a sheep, a pig and three rabbits for PWS&D’s livestock project in Afghanistan. They ended up with 77,020 cents. Dutton is in an agricultural part of Ontario and a member of the congregation is serving in Afghanistan – from the personal comes social justice; little steps grow to large movements and each penny counts.
